Get the Rush! On the third Saturday of every month, volunteers offer family-friendly activities at Rush Ranch. Timing and activities vary month to month. In July, visitors can travel back in time by entering a traditional blacksmith shop, and join a docent-led interpretive hike focused on the birds, plants and water of the marsh. Weather permitting, they can also ride around the ranch on a horse-drawn wagon. The wagons are specially-designed with a wheelchair lift. Guests can also explore exhibits, wander trails on their own, and bring a picnic lunch to enjoy. Free. 10 am to 1 pm at Rush Ranch

Summer Lullaby Storytime. Come in your PJs and bring along a teddy friend to our summertime Lullaby Storytime. We’ll be singing songs and listening to bedtime stories, and all ages are welcome to join us. The program will take place at 6:30 pm at the Vacaville Town Square Library, 1 Town Square Place. Vinyl Ride plays at CreekWalk Concert Series 6:30 to 9:30 pm at Andrews Park. Admission is $3 for 13 years and up.

Stargazing Program: Don’t miss stargazing at Rush Ranch to learn about our amazing night sky. This presentation will focus on dark matter dark energy. Telescopes will be provided for everyone’s viewing when it gets dark. Participants may bring their own telescope or binoculars. From 8:30 pm to 10 pm. The event is free. Saturday, July 27
Nature Hike: This hike will take visitors westward along Middle Valley Trail leading to Prairie Ridge. Expect about a 5 mile hike at a moderate, but even pace over uneven ground. Muddy spots will have cattle prints. There are steep climbs over several hills with the longest at Prairie Ridge. It’s worth it to see the view of the northern San Francisco Bay and Vallejo. Hike leaves promptly at 9:15 from the parking lot; expect to be back by noon. Docent guides will be discussing plant communities, landforms, and birds at Lynch Canyon pointing out highlights as we go. Bring boots, appropriate clothing, water and a snack. Call for more information. RSVP requested. COST: The hike is free, but parking is $6 at Lynch Canyon.

Free Teen Financial Boot Camp in Vacaville! At Travis Credit Union, 1 Travis Way from 12:30-4 pm. “Mad City Money” is a free financial boot camp for young adults aged 14 to 24. During the boot camp, students will learn the basics of savings, budgeting and credit scores through an interactive simulation.
